On May 31, 2010 we inaugurated the new passenger terminal in Funchal, Madeira. The Port Authority had the valuable assistance and expertise of Luis de Carvalho, an experienced consultant in the cruise industry, which contributed to the revision of the functional content of the terminal, the redefinition of areas and channels of embarkation and disembarkation of this important infrastructure. The main objectives were to provide the Port of Funchal with excellent conditions to accommodate the increasingly large number of cruise ship passengers.

The Port and City of Aalborg is a relatively small cruise destination and the knowledge on and experrience with the cruise business is limited.
